In an intermediate project, I gave students a schematic drawing to follow for their designs. I invented a double-sided saddle-stitch book design to help them communicate both the brands they created and also the process they used to design them. I made a diagram for students to follow for construction of a double-sided brand standards guide/design process book (a modified do-si-do book). Students created layouts in InDesign and then made models of the books in class, with the help of a prototype and the diagram. Finally, they followed the diagram on their own to print, fold, and bind their final books.
