I developed a repeatable design process for communicating the yearly theme at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. After studying past marketing and graphics, the needs of the exhibitions and marketing teams, and the curators’ notes, ideas, and interpretation of the featured artists’ work, I created a unified visual look for multi-media marketing. The resulting visual interpretation of the “Worldbulding” theme is inspired by New Wave typography and Swiss Punk. Below are the visuals used in my research–including a communication audit of past themes, inspiration from graphics I developed for the museum’s music series, and a study of the 2022 theme and its resulting visual strategy across digital and physical media.
